Giving To The Department

Our hope is that every student who graduates from our university will be religiously literate, possessing an ability to understand the deepest and most sensitive aspects of other cultures, and our mission is in part to contribute to this goal.   In addition we are aware that our ever more diverse society calls for an informed and respectful attitude to others and their views.

In our scholarship we draw upon many methodologies as we engage in the bold and challenging project of attempting to understand religion objectively and in all of its dimensions.

Your contribution will assist us to achieve these goals.   For example, it can do so by providing scholarships for the research projects of our students, named awards for student excellence, and funds that will support study abroad.   We welcome support for our existing lecture series and support that will endow additional lecture series.   We currently have three funds: one for general support of the program, one to support public lectures in all areas sponsored by the program, and one to support public lectures in our Religion and Environmental Thought Series.

To make an online gift, you are welcome to use the form below.   Please indicate the donation amount and the fund to which you would like your donation directed.   Once you make your selections, please click the "Continue" button below.   You will be redirected to the University of Illinois Foundation's secure on-line giving site where you can complete your personal and credit card information.

If giving online is not your preference or if you would like more information about giving to the Department of Religion, or about how to earmark your donation for a particular initiative for which there currently is not a dedicated account, please contact Todd Warnes with the University of Illinois Foundation at (217) 244-0352 or warnes@uif.uillinois.edu; or Beth Creek with the Department of Religion at (217) 333-2022 or b-creek@ad.uiuc.edu.

Thank you, in advance, for your generous contribution!
